Golf Courses in Comporta
The following planned and existing golf courses in Comporta are located between Troia and Melides along the Alentejo Coast.
Troia Golf Course
The Troia Championship Golf Course was designed by the famous American golf architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, and was voted 25th best European Golf Course by Golf World in 2003.
This challenging course was opened in 1980 and has hosted a number of international tournaments.

Comporta Dunes will be located near the village of Carvalhal close to Pego Beach and has been designed by David McLay Kidd.
David has also been responsible for a number of superb Golf Courses and Resorts worldwide including but not limited to;
Bandon Dunes, Queenwood, Powerscourt, Nanea, Fancourt, TPC San Francisco and St Andrews Links Castle Course.
The Golf Course at Comporta Dunes is set within a stunning terrain of pine forest and sand dunes over one hundred hectares with breathtaking sea views.
Status: Under Construction
The Discovery Group have recently purchased this estate and are in the process of planning and construction.
Planned Golf Courses in Comporta
The Comporta Links course will be located near to the village in Comporta and has been designed by Tom Fazio.
Comporta Links was to be where the Ryder Cup would of been hosted had Comporta been successful with their bid.
The Golf Course is set within 145 hectares of naturally beautiful terrain and will be a Par 72.
Status: Planning Approved
The course has a magnificent 27 holes and is located on the road between Carvalhal and Melides in front of the stunning beach “Pinheirinho.”
Although not open at the moment, the course is finished but does require some maintenance.
The golf course is set amongst the large pine forest and lakes, and although not visible, you may feel the sea breeze coming in off the ocean which makes for perfect golf on a warm day.
