In the center of Comporta, Sao Joao Restaurant is one of the most favourite places to have a true portuguese meal in spite of being run by a foreigner.
At São João in the centre of the Comporta Village the most difficult task is to select what to eat from the vast menu.
If you like simple plain food, you will love the fresh fish and meat selection of the day, perfectly grilled.
However, foodies will not miss the chance to indulge themselves with yummy fish and shellfish cataplanas and rice pot stews with monkfish, grouper, razor clams, shrimp, lobster, octopus and so on.
In the fried fish department of the menu, the choice is tempting too, also because they are served with an array of tasty rices, typically Portuguese.

Portions are generous and you can eat for reasonable prices at São João taking into account the quality of food.
With regard to the drinks, the wine menu is replete of good and varied references. Sangria is also an option.
Nicely decorated restaurant in Comporta, with a casual atmosphere. It’s usually very crowded so is advisable to make a reservation.
