O Frango Assado Restaurant
Av. dos Pescadores, Carrasqueira

You can find O Frango Assado restaurant at the main street of Carrasqueira, one of the most authentic and unspoilt villages in river Sado Nature Reserve, where fishermen still use an old incredible wood structure as a port.
It may be seem peculiar but, contrary to what the name suggests, ‘frango assado’ (grilled chicken) is not on everyday menu, only on wednesdays at lunch and saturdays for dinner (and takeaway). But if you are lucky to pass by at one of those days you won’t regret to try this tasty dish.
Alternatively there are other traditional options, typical portuguese homemade food like fava beans stew, white bean and pork stew, ‘caldeirada’ (fishermen fish soup), fried cuttlefish or seafood rice.
Honest grandma’s style food with fair prices.
